In practical terms, most hardcovers have embossed four-color jackets, three-piece cases, Smyth-sewn bindings, head and foot bands, and are printed on acid-free paper. E-books are available in multiple formats, including Mobi, ePub, PDF, HTML, and XML. Books are promoted via the internet and print media and are marketed to wholesalers, libraries, book clubs, independent bookstores, national chains, internet bookstores, and directly to consumers.
